About the Role The Concierge plays a key role in creating a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment that embodies the mission and values of The Salvation Army. This role is responsible for managing the reception area, providing professional and compassionate first contact to all visitors, and ensuring effective communication and support. The Concierge will assist with phone and in-person enquiries, offer an interim response to community members presenting to the service, as well as complete any necessary referrals, and maintain smooth front-of-house operations. How You Will Make an Impact Reception and Interim Response Provide a warm, professional, and responsive first point of contact for community members, visitors, and emergency service personnel. Address urgent and immediate needs with empathy and efficiency, following established site procedures. Answer and manage incoming phone calls, offering interim response, initial assessments, information, and referrals as required. Monitor the First Response inbox and respond appropriately to enquiries in a timely manner. Identify and report potential high-risk situations to senior staff, taking appropriate preventative action as directed. Build positive relationships with community members, encouraging self-determination and participation to support personal progress. Collaborate and communicate effectively with case workers to ensure coordinated, person-centred support for clients. What You Will Bring Certificate IV in Community Services or a related discipline, with relevant experience; or equivalent knowledge and skills gained through previous roles. Working with Children / Vulnerable People Check (mandatory). Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage sensitively with people from diverse backgrounds.
