Provide strategic advice and support across the organisation to ensure that Council’s communications are appropriate, branded, relevant and targeted, and achieve the strategic objectives of Hume City Council. What you’ll be doing: Contribute to the development and delivery of communications plans to raise awareness and inform our community about Council’s services, programs, projects, initiatives, and events. Provide strategic communications for key decisions of the Council. Support the development, execution, and evaluation of strategic communications campaigns. Support the development of high-level strategic communications advice for senior decision-makers on key issues, policy matters and implementation priorities to support Council objectives. Provide trusted advice and thought leadership to the Coordinator, Strategic Campaigns and Media and Manager, Strategic Communications on a range of issues. Support the strategic review of Council’s communications tools and recommend and implement changes to ensure that they are engaging, innovative, targeted, appropriate, and cost-effective. Participate in local, regional, and state networks/organisations to keep up to date with current communications trends, practices, and requirements. Support the development of strategic reports and conduct key stakeholder briefings on high-risk issues to enhance the reputation of Council. Develop high-level narratives, ensuring strong and consistent key messaging across all strategic communications activities. Provide specialist writing and editing for a range of communications materials and channels that are tailored for various external and internal audiences and stakeholders.
