Complex Care | Disability Support Worker | Gold Coast and Southern Brisbane

About Us:

LOJ Supports is a clinical-led complex care provider serving the Gold Coast and Southern Brisbane. Unlike generalist providers, our supports are led by a clinical team, meaning our support workers are backed by real clinical oversight, not left to navigate complex needs alone. We work with participants who have high-intensity support needs, including tracheostomy care, PEG feeding, complex behaviour support, and epilepsy management.

Our mission is to inspire, empower, and enable children, adults, and families with additional challenges to enhance their quality of life. Everything we do is guided by our values: integrity, inclusivity, consistency, involvement, playfulness, and sustainability. These aren't words on a wall for us, they shape how our team shows up for participants and each other, every day.

The Role:

We're offering a full-time position supporting participants with complex clinical needs across the Gold Coast and Southern Brisbane. This is a genuine opportunity to build a long-term career in complex care, with the stability of full-time hours and the backing of a dedicated clinical team behind every shift, so you're never navigating complex environments without proper preparation and support.

No experience in complex care? That's okay. We care more about your work ethic, reliability, and genuine willingness to learn than a long resume. If you're the kind of professional who shows up, pays attention, asks questions, and wants to build real skills in a clinically supported environment, we want to hear from you.

The Kind of Professional We're Looking For:

Complex care isn't just clinical, it's deeply relational. Our participants and their families often work closely with the same support worker over an extended period, and that consistency matters. Trust takes time to build, and it can only be built by the right personality fit between support worker and participant.

That's why we take a considered approach to matching our staff with participants, looking beyond skills and experience to temperament, communication style, and personal approach. We're looking for professionals who are naturally patient, observant, and steady under pressure, who can read a room and adjust, and who understand that the relationship they build with a participant is often just as important as the clinical task in front of them. If you're someone who genuinely connects with people and takes pride in being a consistent, trusted presence in someone's life, that's exactly who we want on our team.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Supporting participants with daily living tasks, personal care, and community access
  • Working alongside and under the guidance of our clinical team as you build complex care skills
  • Following individualised support and clinical care plans accurately and consistently
  • Communicating clearly with our coordination and clinical staff about participant wellbeing
  • Building genuine, respectful relationships with participants and their families over the long term

What We're Looking For:

  • A strong work ethic and reliability, you show up, you follow through
  • Genuine eagerness to learn and grow into complex care work
  • Comfortable receiving feedback and clinical guidance, and applying it
  • Good communication skills and a calm, patient approach
  • A natural ability to build rapport and trust, with the emotional steadiness complex care relationships require
  • Ability to work independently once trained, while knowing when to ask for support
  • Own reliable transport and a current driver's licence (highly regarded, most shifts require travel between participants)

Experience in disability support, aged care, nursing, or complex care is a bonus, but not required. We invest in training the right people, not just hiring a qualification.

Requirements to Apply (or willingness to obtain before starting)

  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Working with Children Check, if applicable to your role
  • Certificate III/IV in Individual Support or Disability (highly regarded, not essential)
  • Full Australian work rights

Why LOJ Supports

  • A genuine full-time position with stable, consistent hours, not casual or on-call
  • Paid training and genuine clinical mentorship, not just an induction video
  • Real supervision from a clinical team, so you're supported in complex situations
  • A clear pathway to build specialised complex care skills and progress within the organisation
  • Competitive full-time salary above SCHADS Award minimums, reflecting the complexity of the work
  • A values-led team culture built on integrity, inclusivity, and genuine care
  • Pay: $75,000.00 – $85,000.00 per year
