The Accounting Services division provides bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, audit, tax, and other financial services to commercial businesses and Federal and State Government contractors. Limited to candidates who are located in the MD/DC/VA area.
Position Overview:
The Junior Accountant will support the accounting department with day-to-day financial operations, assist with month-end closing, and help ensure accurate financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process accounts payable and receivable transactions
• Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions
• Assist with payroll processing and related reporting
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Help with month-end and year-end closing activities
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Support audits and compliance activities as needed
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
• Collaborate with team members and respond to internal and external inquiries• Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 1-5 years of relevant accounting experience
• Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel, or similar tools)
• Experience using various software: PROCAS, Deltek, or similar software.
• Experience using various payroll systems: Paylocity, ADP, Paychex, or similar software.
• Experience utilizing the following invoicing platforms: PIEE, IPP, GSA or similar platforms.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Professional attitude and willingness to learn and grow
• The ability to multi-task and juggle multiple priorities. Great organizational skills. Attention to detail is a must.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Prefer advanced knowledge of Excel.

SALARY DESCRIPTION:

$45,000 - 57,00
