Description

2nd Shift Manufacturing Fabricator
We are seeking a hands-on, mechanically inclined individual to join our 2nd shift team. As a leading contract manufacturer with state-of-the-art equipment, we need versatile people who enjoy working with their hands, solving problems, and taking pride in precision work. This role is designed for someone who is flexible and willing to support wherever the need arises—across machining, fabrication, and assembly.

What You’ll Do

  • Operate and assist with a wide range of manufacturing equipment, including saws, shears, lasers, punches, press brakes, CNC mills/lathes, and welding machines.
  • Support setups, run production parts, and adjust equipment under guidance from leads or supervisors.
  • Read and follow blueprints, work instructions, and shop travelers to complete jobs accurately.
  • Inspect parts using precision tools such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and gauges to ensure quality.
  • Help with fixtures, tools, and jigs to support production efficiency.
  • Assist with new part introductions and process improvement initiatives.
  • Pitch in where needed—whether in material prep, machining, forming, welding support, or final assembly.

Desired Skills & Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical/vocational training a plus.
  • Prior experience in machining, fabrication, or manufacturing is desirable, but motivated learners with mechanical aptitude are welcome.
  • Comfortable using measuring tools and performing basic shop math (including fractions and trigonometry).
  • Able to read and interpret technical drawings/blueprints.
  • Computer literacy (basic data entry, file management, Microsoft Office).
  • Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and problem-solving skills.
  • Team-oriented with good communication skills.

Optional but Helpful

  • Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
  • CNC or CAM programming experience (G-code/M-code).
  • Exposure to 3D printing, robotics, or advanced manufacturing methods.
  • Troubleshooting or IT-related skills.

Physical & Other Requirements

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and following company procedures.
  • Must be available for 2nd shift (mid-afternoon to late evening) with occasional overtime.
