Description:

The Information Technology (IT) department has an opportunity for qualified individuals to apply for the position of Systems Analyst. Reporting to the Senior Systems Analyst, this position offers 72-hours bi-weekly starting June 20, 2024, until July 19, 2025.
The Systems Analyst is a technical role that liaises with operating departments to identify opportunities for the automation of both current and new business processes in support of corporate strategies. In addition, the Systems Analyst leads in the implementation of enterprise and business critical information systems. The Systems Analyst may also be involved in the development of RFPs, RFQs and expressions of interest and be part of selection committees.
Qualified candidates will hold an undergraduate degree or diploma in a related IT field, along with a minimum of 3 years of technical leadership experience in planning, implementing, and supporting enterprise systems. Essential skills include excellent technical troubleshooting and resolution skills, with demonstrated experience in developing, debugging, maintaining, and enhancing database applications.
Additional assets include a strong understanding of LAN and WAN topologies, along with proven expertise in administering cloud-based services, project management, business analysis, and change management. Valuable certifications include SQL Administration, SharePoint Online Administration, and DevOps/Agile. Experience with government-specific software systems and Microsoft 365 is also beneficial. Proficiency in software interface development using technologies such as SQL, PowerShell, and APIs, with the ability to translate business processes into hardware and software system requirements is highly desirable.
The successful candidate is organized, detail-oriented and a customer-centric change agent with the demonstrated ability to effectively communicate, create and present materials to technical and non-technical audiences and can prioritize tasks based on departmental and corporate requirements. In addition, candidates must demonstrate commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace and will create and maintain effective working relationships with others while contributing to a positive team environment. The starting wage for this position is $48.27 an hour.
As a requirement of the position, the successful applicant must hold a valid class 5 BC driver’s license and must provide a satisfactory driver’s abstract and a satisfactory Police Information Check prior to beginning employment.
