Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid West Virginia Teaching Certificate in English or Comprehensive Language Arts (5-12 preferred)
  • Experience preferred
  • Has a strong background in writing skills and demonstrates language skills through written work
  • Possess the knowledge of how to use a variety of teaching strategies to effectively teach students with varying levels of ability
  • Possess knowledge of strategies to prepare students for standardized testing
  • Possess a strong academic background
  • Demonstrates creative ability through writing
  • Has experience in writing poetry, stories, essays, etc., and the ability to instruct students to write in these areas
  • Is willing to work with Written Communications Month
  • Values reading of important literary work
  • Demonstrates language skills through evaluation of language expression and mechanics
  • Possess proficiency in basic grammar and the language usage
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Successful completion of the interview process
  • Any additional combination of training or experience which would lead to successful employment as an English/Language Arts Teacher
