Description

ARE YOU READY TO HELP CREATE THE NEXT CHAPTER OF OUR STORY?

Clyde & Co is running a national Summer Clerkship Program for 2024/2025 and invites you to submit your application.
If you’re looking for the perfect environment to learn, develop and progress, Clyde & Co is the place for you. We’re a growing firm (one of the fastest growing in the world, in fact) working at the heart of sectors that drive global trade and commerce and this experience will not only enhance your legal skills, but also broaden your understanding of different cultures and business practices.
This Program is our primary method for graduate recruitment and many of our Summer Clerks go on to start their legal career with us.
What you’ll do
As a Clyde & Co Summer Clerk, you will gain exposure to our niche practice areas and experience more than just shadowing our lawyers.

Clyde & Co Summer Clerks can expect to:

  • Experience real work by observing cases, drafting responses, providing advice and preparing research
  • Get involved in significant deals, meetings and negotiations
  • Attend court hearings, arbitrations and mediations to see the different types of litigation available first-hand
  • Learn about the nuances of privacy advice and the Cyber landscape in Australia and New Zealand
  • Work alongside leading Insurance lawyers as they demystify the myths of insurance law

WHAT WE PROVIDE

We take a very hands-on approach to our program to give clerks valuable insight into how we operate. Clyde & Co Clerks will be provided with:

  • A dedicated performance coach and buddy who will help you settle in and provide guidance and support throughout your placement
  • A formal induction program, equipping you with the necessary knowledge and skills to succeed
  • Ongoing training and information sessions to broaden your understanding and strengthen your competencies
  • Opportunities to build your business development skills by being provided with many client facing opportunities
  • Plenty of social events, allowing you to network with not only the other clerks but with colleagues from across the firm
  • The chance to hear about our global connections and overseas opportunities
  • The opportunity to get involved in community and pro bono work, and learn about our Diversity & Inclusion committees
  • Opportunities to connect with interstate clerks and build a national network

What we are looking for

We’re proud to be a genuinely diverse firm. We don’t look for a certain type of person. We look for people who can bring us something different. New ideas. Fresh perspectives. Open-mindedness. And the kind of collaborative spirit that leads to powerful solutions to complex problems. We are interested in engaging with clerks who are:

  • Self-motivated, naturally proactive and full of initiative
  • Commercially minded and have an entrepreneurial spirit
  • Team players
  • Equipped with innovation and great attention to detail
