Description:

THE OPPORTUNITY

The Application Developer is accountable to the Leader, IT Development and Technical Product Development Lead, for the development/configuration of the organization’s computer applications based upon documented specifications and for the day-to-day resolution of production support issues having an immediate impact on business operations.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU HAVE:

  • The required knowledge and skills for the position would be acquired through a degree in computer science and 3-5 years of technical experience in the IT industry involving hands-on support of third-party applications or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to see the problem, issue or request in the larger context of the business to ensure that solutions are not restrictive.
  • Knowledge of testing principles to ensure testing is comprehensive.
  • Current (and ongoing) knowledge of emerging technologies.
  • Knowledge of systems development life cycle to be able to provide input during each of the phases.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Experience with the agile methodology for software development.
  • Experience in application development and application development languages.
  • Experience with Energov is an asset.
  • Experience with MS D365 is an asset.
  • Knowledge of business analysis tools and techniques.
  • Experience with database applications and sql.
  • Experience in report programming.
