QUALIFICATIONS
Your education will include a recognized post-secondary bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. A minimum of three years’ transportation engineering related experience with progressively more responsible project management. Preferably supplemented with some experience in a Municipal environment. You have strong written and verbal communication skills, demonstrate leadership, have the ability to problem solve and interpret policies, standards/design criteria. Extensive computer familiarity is required with proficiency in Microsoft Office, visual presentations and spreadsheets. Knowledge of TAC standards and alternate modes of transportation is preferred.
Responsibilities:
In this role you will assist in the planning and implementation of transportation initiatives for all modes of transportation, including roads, rapid transit systems, buses, walking, cycling, and safety and accessibility initiatives. You will establish and maintain effective communication and coordination with other organizational units in the departments and external stakeholders including Ministry of Transportation, TransLink, community organizations, other Municipalities, and the public. You will assist in addressing accessibility, transportation choices, affordability, community issues and respond to enquiries and requests made from the public on transportation infrastructure, plans, and safety. You will undertake transportation analysis and conceptual/functional designs as well as cost estimates using industry standards to address current and future transportation needs for all modes of transportation for users of all ages and abilities.
