QUALIFICATIONS
Your education will include a university degree in Geographic Information systems/Geomatics or an equivalent combination of training and experience, supplemented by courses of work and a minimum of five years related work experience with progressively more responsibility in geographic information systems and at least two years supervisory experience. With excellent leadership skills, you can provide advice, direction and leadership to a diverse work group. You have considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of geomatics, base mapping, engineering service mapping, GIS applications and data management and knowledge of the principles of civil engineering and land surveying.
Responsibilities:
In this role, you will manage the Geomatics Services team with responsibility for the architecture, standardization, quality assurance, quality control, design, development, operation, and support of geomatic systems and geospatial data and related hardware, software and services. You will oversee recruitment, selection, motivation, training and employee performance evaluation for the Geomatic Services team. In consultation with the IT management team, you will make recommendations on strategic direction of the IT Division and ensure that current and proposed solutions operate within budgetary and corporate goals. The Manager, Geomatic Services promotes a service ethic within the department and ensures that corporate solutions are implemented through proactive communication, presentations, reports, project management and facilitation.
