Description:

The post holder will provide general non-clinical advice, information and guidance to patients, clients, relative or carers. Telephone and face to face enquiries are dealt with efficiently, compassionately and with understanding and action taken as appropriate. Assist with organising multi-agency meetings.Provide written and verbal information. To welcome and signpost patients.
To gather and record patient information accurately. Responsibility for Policy and Service Development Required to follow all relevant Trust policies and adhere to department guidelines at all times. All tasks are organised and produced to required standards and within specified timescales in agreement with the line manager. Secretarial/clerical systems are maintained appropriately.
To act within agreed dimensions without direct supervision as required. Responsibility for Financial and Physical Resources Ensures that clinical and administrative stocks are ordered and used appropriately being mindful of the Trust resources. To maintain the area resources and environment as appropriate. Responsibility for Information Resources Efficient and effective use is made of the various computer systems and databases to ensure the accurate recording of the patient information and record-keeping functions.
Letters, reports, presentations etc are produced using a variety of secretarial skills including audio typing, producing clinic letters through the Trusts PAS. Filing and documentation is maintained using established Trust/departmental systems. This includes the preparation and organisation of historical records for scanning. Take and transcribe minutes of Speciality/Department meetings and distribute accordingly.
Required to maintain and update the Trusts computerised Patient Administration System. Participate in appraisal and training of self to develop a personal development plan and strive to achieve the set objectives. See attached Job Description and Person Specification
