Description:
BRIEF DESCRIPTION
The main purpose of this position is to process exchange control (excon) applications and monitor compliance with the Currency and Exchanges Manual for Authorised Dealers as well as the Exchange Control Regulations to regulate cross-border transactions and ensure the efficient management of foreign exchange.
DETAILED DESCRIPTION
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:
- Analyse, process and finalise basic applications for approval and deliver work that meets the prescribed time and quality standards.
- Assist in the planning of inspections and provide a written report on inspections findings for approval.
- Assist in the day-to-day administration, including record-keeping, the compilation of schedules and inspection profiling in support of operational efficiency within the division and own work.
- Capture data as well as provide management information for decision-making purposes.
- Perform work under limited supervision within the established practices, processes, rules and regulations, ensuring compliance with standards, policies and other guidelines in own area of expertise.
- Engage with the relevant internal stakeholders, displaying an ability to convey and explain information fluently.
- Participate in ad hoc projects and compile the information to inform policy decisions .
- Proactively broaden knowledge of own functional area and stay current with developments (e.g. changes to excon policies, rules and regulations), holding self and others accountable to the adherence thereof.
- Diagnose problems and choose and/or modify routines to deal with them, displaying the ability to provide solutions for problems within a defined context.
