3D Geospatial Product Engineer II - Maps SDK for JavaScript

At the Esri R&D Center Zurich, we are looking for a senior product engineer who will work with us to grow and foster the ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript for 3D workflows. Our SDK empowers web developers around the globe to build compelling mapping applications. As a leader in GIS technology, we welcome applicants with strong Geospatial backgrounds. REQUIREMENTS

• Master’s degree in cartography, geography, geomatics, surveying, other geospatial fields or/and computer science, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience with geospatial technology
• Proficient with JavaScript, ideally TypeScript, CSS, and HTML
• Industry experience in building geospatial, 3D, or web applications
• Passion and ideally a track record for delivering high quality software
• Solid knowledge of agile software development processes and methodologies
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Existing work authorization for Switzerland

RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in developing web APIs and owning SDK functionality
• Experience in quality assurance, test strategies and test automation
• Experience with writing technical documentation
• Knowledge of market trends and customer needs in the mapping industry
• Good intuition for the aesthetics and technical aspects of information visualization
• Experience with 3D mapping libraries and frameworks (such as ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript, Three.js, CesiumJS, Mapbox GL JS, OpenLayers, and others)

• Gather and analyze requirements to ensure the SDK meets the needs of developers, stakeholders, and end users
• Shape the roadmap based on developer feedback, industry trends, and market demands
• Set high standards on usability and functionality of the SDK and recommend improvements
• Write comprehensive documentation, code samples, and release notes to enable developers in effectively utilizing the SDK
• Educate the development team on potential use cases in various industries
• Stay updated with industry trends to drive the future of 3D web mapping
• Advocate for the adoption of 3D web mapping with our API internally and externally
