The Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), 737 Systems organization is seeking a high performing first level Environmental Control Systems (ECS) Manager. This role is located in Renton, Washington.

POSITION OVERVIEW:

This manager will lead and inspire a group of employees performing engineering, technical, and regulatory tasks in the area of Environmental Control Systems. The position includes responsibility for developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, setting operational goals for the team, and acquiring financial and technical resources. The position supports both 737 Production and 737 Development Programs (-7, -10).
Candidates applying for this position should be comfortable providing technical and project management of both Boeing employees and suppliers, as well as leading process improvement activities and utilizing cutting-edge methods for managing team workload and resources. The ability to develop and maintain positive and healthy relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, and partners is a key attribute to being successful in this role. This this role also includes a significant level of mentoring, developing and motivating direct reports.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Manages employees performing engineering and technical tasks in the area of Environmental Control Systems (ECS) on the 737 Program. This include 737 Production and Fleet Support, as well as 737 Development Programs (-7, -10).
  • Develops and executes project and process plans, implements policies and procedures and sets operational goals.
  • Acquires resources for projects and processes, including budget and staffing.
  • Provides technical and project oversight of suppliers.
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners and direct reports.
  • Provides oversight and approval of technical approaches, products and processes.
  • Provides oversight and approval of approaches to compliance with regulatory requirements and certification processes.
  • Leads and fosters process improvements.
  • Develops and maintains a culture of seeking to understand, courage to speak up, active listening and servant leadership to manage, develop and motivate employees.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE):

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience in the aerospace industry.
  • 3+ years of experience leading teams in a formal and/or informal role.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills and Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience in the development, integration, and verification of aircraft systems
  • Master’s Degree in an engineering related field or Business Administration (MBA)
  • Experience in managing teams within an agile work management framework and implementing agile work management
  • Experience with or a desire to learn and implement more Model-Based Engineering (MBE) / Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methods

PAY IS BASED UPON CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS, AS WELL AS MARKET AND BUSINESS CONSIDERATIONS.

  • Summary pay range: $147,050 - $198,950
