Position Overview: Saint Rita School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our faculty as a 7th-grade English Language Arts and Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing a dynamic and engaging learning experience rooted in the values of Catholic education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate middle school students in both language arts and social studies disciplines within a supportive and collaborative school community.
Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in English Language Arts and Social Studies for 7th-grade students. Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic excellence, critical thinking, and spiritual growth. Incorporate Catholic values and principles into instruction and classroom discussions. Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents. Implement a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners, including technology integration where appropriate. Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and promote interdisciplinary connections. Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators to support student achievement and well-being. Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives as required.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, Social Studies, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred. Valid teaching certification/license in the applicable subject area(s) and grade level. Previous experience teaching middle school students, preferably in a Catholic school setting. Strong knowledge of English language arts and social studies curriculum standards and instructional best practices. Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education, including the integration of faith and academics. Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills. Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners. Technological proficiency and willingness to integrate technology into instruction. Must pass background check and fulfill all requirements for employment in a Catholic school.
