    Our practice is recruiting for a collaborative Medical Receptionist who is interested in joining our amazing team. There will be an opportunity to be upskilled in many areas. ABOUT YOU

We are seeking a compassionate, empathetic, self-motivated, hardworking and customer service minded Medical Receptionist for a permanent Full-time role. You are born to be a Director of Impressions – Brand Ambassador for our practice and love this role.
The successful applicant will be comfortable with the day-to-day requirements of a very busy Surgical practice and pride themselves in their attention to detail skills and customer service – and loves working with a hardworking collaborative team.
Once you have mastered the practice’s basic Medical Receptionist duties you will have the opportunity to be trained and upskill in Theatre Bookings, Quoting and Billing. Along with handling AMA fees and booking requests for admissions. You will be trained when proficient in your current role to cover the Practice Manager’s duties when they are on leave.

Our ideal candidate will have the following experience:

  • Meet and Greet experience including managing a consulting session
  • Previous experience in a Private Speciality/Surgical practice, viewed favourably.
  • Experience with consulting billing
  • In-box management and managing Surgeon’s diary
  • Uploading referrals and reports to patient files
  • Answering phones in a professional and empathetic manner
  • Experience using Genie (or similar medical software programs)
  • IT savviness and able to troubleshoot
  • Excellent communication skills with a positive and friendly manner and can-do attitude
  • Excellent professional appearance and demeanour, whether in person, in writing or verbal
  • Ability to work independently with initiative and also love being part of a team – a true team player
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to multi-task in a busy environment
  • Pride themselves on their attention to detail skills – and genuinely want to make a difference in our patients lives
  • A can-do attitude, where you are happy to assist the Surgeon and other team members in ad-hoc duties

Responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming patients into the practice in an efficient, friendly and courteous manner
  • Assisting with consulting sessions and meet and greet along with our team
  • Always delivering exceptional customer service – even an empathetic chat on the phone
  • Scheduling and managing patient appointments including managing consulting sessions
  • Collecting and entering patient details and administration services (training provided if needed)
  • Reviewing, editing and sending patient letters and reports – to many different entities and stakeholders
  • Managing Workcover cases and DVA experience (viewed highly)
  • Performing general administrative duties such as scanning, faxing, mail sorting, filing and follow-up patient inquiries
  • Patient billing and processing of payments (training provided if needed)
  • Supporting and assisting the Surgeon, clinicians and fellow administrative staff in a range of administration and ad-hoc tasks.
