Main Responsibilities

The purpose of this role is to supervise and execute:

  • Monthly closing and reporting activities as per group timetable
  • Define and drive accounting, process and systems changes operationally and facilitate A2R service delivery
  • Ensure all automatic postings have been booked, all recurring and non-recurring items in area of responsibility are collected, accounts reconciled and Manual Journal Entries (MJE) booked
  • Assets and inventory accounting services
  • Participate in different activities relating to fixed asset and inventory life cycle
  • Perform the recording & booking activities
  • Perform assets (including tangible, intangible, finance, leases under IFRS 16) depreciation and valuation, and month end reporting
  • Contribute to inventory costing and valuation and calculate inventory depreciation
  • Contribute to periodic reviews of assets and inventory impairment follow-up
  • Contribute to month end closure relating to fixed assets and inventory and prepare related reporting
  • Coordinate stock-count activities
  • Cash accounting services
  • Clear transitory accounts
  • Perform bank reconciliations and related adjustments
  • Perform booking of transactions relating to financial instruments, debts and loans
  • Perform calculation of Forex net positions
  • Contribute to month end closure relating to cash accounting and prepare related reporting
  • Address operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner
  • Have a deep understanding of GBS Core Model processes and SAP (iShift) functionalities
  • Technical accounting - functional and technical support across A2R processes and systems and drive operational and continuous improvement projects
  • Supporting the operational team during the transitions with sharing the best practices from the previous waves
  • Take the lead in (FtS, FtG) gap analysis and stabilization of migrated processes.
  • Developing the procedures for the country specificities, for compliance and internal controls
  • Interfaces with different teams to ensure compliance with cross-team accountabilities
  • Providing guidance and support to the team members in high-complexity issues
  • Support management, legal and statutory reporting at Group and country levels
  • Address operational issues and follow through to resolution in an effective and timely manner
  • Supervise GBS A2R junior and senior accountants, manage team according to GBS TOM structure
  • Support internal and external audits

About you

Experience:

  • 5+ year experience in closing and reporting preferably in an international multicultural environment
  • Good knowledge of IFRS and local GAAPs
  • Hands on expertise in GL accounting, closing & reporting processes and activities

Skills:

  • Strong deductive and analytical skills
  • Ability to organize, prioritize and structure the tasks for oneself and direct reports
  • Transversal mindset and ability to work across processes, geographies, languages, cultures, business maturity levels
  • Action oriented, delivery driven, change agent
  • Role model / coach to junior accountants

Technical skills:

  • Hands on knowledge of SAP ERP and other accounting applications
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and expertise of MS Excel

Education:

  • Degree in Accounting / Finance / Economics or equivalent

Languages:

  • Fluency in English mandatory and other European languages are desirable
