ROLE DETAILS

The Aboriginal Cultural Support Worker is a role within Kurlana Tapa Youth Justice Centre (KTYJC) and is accountable to the Senior Aboriginal Cultural Advisor for:

  • Providing culturally responsive support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) young people within KTYJC.
  • Delivering and maintaining efficient work practices and procedures to respond to the needs of Aboriginal children and young people and their families.
  • Identifying practice issues and proposing culturally appropriate ways of addressing these to ensure continual practice improvements.
  • Liaising with partners and key stakeholders to develop strong partnerships.
