The role of Support Officer sits within the Access to Education Service (previously Education Safeguarding).
The Access to Education Service consists of two teams whose functions include;
Children and Families Team: Children Missing Education, Elective Home Education, Attendance.
Schools and Settings Team: Legal Intervention, Child Employment & Licensing, School Safeguarding.
Both teams are committed to providing a child focused service that champions children’s rights to an education.
You will initially sit within the Schools and Setting Team, but you may be asked to work across the two teams.
The role is fast paced, and varied and you will support the Service in its statutory and traded responsibilities for many of our areas of work (see Job Focus: Schools and Setting Team).
The service is newly formed, which means this is an ideal opportunity for someone who can work within an environment of change and contribute to new ways of working.
