JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Accommodation Representative will be primarily responsible for completing administrative work necessary to collect revenue for preferred accommodation and telephone charges. This involves meeting with patients on the inpatient units and the emergency department.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Mnimum college or diploma course in business, health services administration or health related field preferred
  • Previous registration/admitting experience in a health care organization preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills in working with the public and other departments
  • Strong customer service background and skills
  • Knowledge of EPIC and MS Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Responsibilities:

  • Interview patient/family to obtain insurance information and signatures
  • Follow up and support as directed by Financial Services in recouping payment as required
  • Supporting processes related to preferred accommodation in all units that process or admit inpatients
  • Support up-sell strategies in the optimization of preferred revenue
  • Review and correct all field criteria rejection prior to claim submission to insurance carrier
  • Assist in training and education of Registration Associates/UCAs related to preferred accommodations
