At Ketchum Brussels, we’re looking for an Account Manager with a focus on media relations. This is an exciting opportunity to help our clients build and protect their brand and reputation.
Are you an experienced communicator with a background in media relations and stakeholder engagement? Do you have experience in developing and delivering earned media campaigns that include thought leadership, corporate storytelling, and executive profiling? Are you familiar with supporting clients through emerging issues and crisis situations? We want to talk to you!

YOUR SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

• 5+ years prior experience in a communications consultancy, in-house department, or media environment.
• Demonstrated success in media relations including a strategic understanding of established and emerging media titles.
• Intellectually curious and enjoying a multi-faceted, fast-paced environment.
• Commercial mindset with an ability to identify business opportunities.
• Strong organization skills with a high degree of flexibility, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent people management skills, driven by values.
• French native-level speaker with a good knowledge of Dutch and English.

• Deliver strategic counsel and develop communication strategies for your designated clients.
• Willingness to be embedded on client account teams to serve as the media relations expert.
• Oversee the writing of compelling media materials – press releases, statements, talking points, pitches, etc.
• Proactively and reactively engage with media with a wide range of pitches that are news, trend, expert, or product driven.
• Prepare our clients’ spokespeople for media interviews both in-person and virtually.
• Drive effective project and campaign implementation, identifying the best resources to meet and exceed client expectations with an ability to delegate work appropriately.
• You oversee and manage budgets, forecasts and revenue tracking.
• You build and leverage a deep understanding of your clients’ businesses and competitive environment to anticipate their needs and seize opportunities that deliver impact for both our clients and Ketchum.
• You engage, support and coach junior colleagues.
• Actively expand your expertise in media relations with the opportunity to take on a key role in the development of Ketchum Brussels’ earned media team.
