Summary:
The Account Manager position is responsible to implement and lead strategic sales objectives that support the goals of Pace Industries. This involves knowing specific strategies to grow the respective plant top-line sales, helping these strategies be implemented at the plant level, and leading the plant to carry out the corporate goals and objectives for their accounts.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Have the appropriate focus to serve and build relationships with their assigned accounts to achieve top-line growth and profitability.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the strategic sales objectives for the plant.
  • Sell to assigned customer account(s) AND new business opportunities through sales presentations, completion of quoting projects, some negotiating of pricing, and solving problems internally and externally.
  • Provide routine updates on key issues to the Strategic Account Manager, Director of Sales and/or VP of Sales.
  • Be on top of customer issues, be willing to help solve quality, tooling, pricing, packaging, and shipment problems.Know their customer’s business and performance; visit their customers often

    • plant(s) and corporate office; know who the decision-makers are.

    • Be able to manage multiple tasks, use necessary reports for decision-making, and prompt with completion of reports that are required.
    • Manage all pricing and commercial issues with the customer…tooling, part quotes, freight, contracts, etc.…all goes through the Sales Manager.
    • Be aware of account’s profit performance; work diligently with Operations, Quality, and Engineering to understand account problem cost areas.

    Position Requirements:
    Bachelor’s degree in Business or Marketing is required. Having good business acumen and using sound judgment are qualities that must be evident. The Account Manager should have strong mathematical abilities, written, and oral communication skills as well as product knowledge. Being able to deliver the Pace Industries sales presentation in front of customers is necessary for the position’s success. Overall, this person must be one who owns a great work ethic, a positive attitude, and a team approach.
    This position reports to the Director of Sales, and indirectly the position will report to the Division President. The quote engineer and customer service departments directly report to this position. This position must effectively deal with customers, other sales and support staff at the plant and corporate level, and Pace executives as required. There will be moderate travel to visit primarily existing customers and prospective customers as opportunities arise, and seminars / conferences as needed.
