KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Agriculture, Economics or Finance.
  • Two to three years of related agricultural lending, sales and/or marketing experience.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency and familiarity with financial databases and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to employ diplomacy and tact with customers and prospects while articulating the benefits of AgCredit.
  • Ability to be assertive and decisive in arriving at sound business decisions which serve the best interest of the association and the borrower
  • Strong interpersonal, time management, analytical and marketing skills.
  • Current awareness of economic developments and production technology affecting agriculture in the region.
  • Ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Proven ability to make sound business decisions.Ability to travel and visually inspect customer’s property to evaluate credit factors and complete farm visits as well as travel to/from other lending offices, associations, AgFirst or other facilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Service the assigned loan portfolio within their delegated authority by:
  • Structures credit, including terms, repayment, loan amount, pricing, etc.
  • Communicates new and servicing loan actions and leases to the Loan Assistant
  • Understands and interprets entity documents, financial statements, pro forma financial statements, and other legal documents
  • Obtain relevant information and evaluate applicants’ financial status, including credit history, debt-to-income ratio, and appraisal reports, to determine recommendation for loan approval
  • Promotes and sells financially related services including crop and fee income.
  • Ensures acceptable credit administration, delinquency containment, and timely input of borrower and loan information into loan accounting systems.
  • As appropriate, reviews credit packages prior to approval, approves loans, and reviews loan closing documents
  • Provides excellent Customer Service by:
  • Relationship development/maintenance from prospect to member and throughout member lifecycle
  • Understands the applicants’ operation and business needs in order to recommend appropriate products/services
  • Meets with and maintains communication with the applicant throughout the loan application process, including explanation the risks and benefits, as well as the terms of loan products and government regulations and notices of loan decision
  • Delivers industry expertise to the prospect or member
  • Perform business development tasks, including managing the pipeline by generating leads and referral business, and maintaining relationships with existing and past clients
  • Assists in implementing marketing, member and public relations programs in the assigned territory.
  • Promotes a positive AgCredit image through farm visits.
  • Represents the Association by attending agriculture related meetings (FFA banquets, county fairs, elevators, fertilizer dealers, equipment dealers, etc.) to further a positive image of AgCredit and the lending office.
  • Supports AgCredit’s YBSM initiatives.
  • Assists in meeting the lending office’s credit quality standards as set in the Board Policy and Standards Manual.
  • Promotes the use of loan processing efficiency tools. (ex. Account Access, AutoDraft, etc.)
  • Assists the Lending Manager in coordinating the office follow up for timely completion of note mods on eligible loans within the appropriate time periods.
  • Actively promotes AgCredit’s corporate core values with zero tolerance for cynicism.
  • Promotes harmony and teamwork within the office by maintaining a positive attitude towards members, prospects and co-workers.
  • Assists in the management and operation of the lending office in an efficient manner so as to meet the cost of operation and volume per employee goals.
  • Assists in the collection of comparable sales data in assigned service area.
  • Completes training programs as organized, assigned, and/or approved by AgCredit.
