Job Title: Accountant
Location: York Region, ON
Length of Assignment: Temporary
Salary: $27-$30/hour

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
Five years of accounting experience, with some exposure to manufacturing, and in a unionized environment
Strong computer skills (Excel)
Good time management skills, be able to meet deadline and has strong sense of urgency
Good operational accounting, problem solving, and analytical skills
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Prefer to have some Payroll experience, and knowledge of Ontario/Canada regulations

Prepare month-end work to generate income statement and balance sheet,
Prepare balance sheet accounts reconciliations (including AP/AR/fixed asset/inter-company, prepayment, accrual etc.)
Track capital/project spending and maintain Fixed asset subledger
Prepare weekly and monthly financial reports and analysis
Maintain standard cost system and be involved in inventory count
Assist controller to prepare forecast/budget
Prepare audit papers and work with internal and external auditors for questions and request
General office duties and other ad hoc duties assigned by controller
