    Our client is a Singapore headquartered family office that focuses on global multi-asset class investment strategies. It was established in 2021 and backed an owner of a global maritime MNC.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 2 to 4 years of relevant experience in accounting with good knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards.
  • Prior working experience in an asset management industry or a family office will be advantageous, but this is not a must
  • Open to Big 4 auditors without asset management/ investment sector exposure who intends to move to an accounting focused role in the investment management/ family office sector.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. CA / CPA) or currently on its pathway are a plus .
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills needed along with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines with accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
  • Able to work independently with self-initiative.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft office
  • Proficiency in SAP would be advantageous.

Responsibilities:

DESCRIPTION OF ROLE

For this role you will support the Group by carrying out various operational activities concerning the management of the Group’s assets. With a specific focus on accounting, you will be responsible for tasks related to financial accounting, reconciliations, and ensuring accuracy of financial data. This will include monitoring and reconciling investment transactions, maintaining accurate records of portfolio holdings, and generating management and financial reports. You will also work on compliance, cash management and treasury matters. Working with a close-knitted and lean team with wide visibility and exposure, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity of financial information and contributing to the overall financial operations of the family office.

FULL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate financial data, including trade processing, treasury and cash management, payments, staff expenses, financial accounting, and reconciliations.
  • Monitor and reconcile investment transactions, ensuring accuracy and completeness of valuations.
  • Generate performance and operational reports, ensuring data integrity and consistency.
  • Assist in regulatory compliance activities including but not limited to annual audits, ensuring adherence to relevant industry regulations and internal policies.
  • Handle periodic Know-Your-Client (KYC) or Anti-Money Laundering (AML) questionnaires.
  • Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of operational systems and workflows, identifying opportunities for process improvements and contribute suggestions to additional controls to mitigate operational risks.
  • Assist in annual budgeting process.
  • Collaborate with custodians, brokers, and other external service providers to facilitate the timely and accurate processing of investment transactions and resolve any operational issues.
  • Provide operational support and respond to inquiries from internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders.
  • Support the day-to-day operational activities of the family office with other administrative matters and ad hoc tasks where required.
