Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Senior Accountant and indirectly to the Controller, this role will be pivotal in building effective accounting best practices. This is a fast-paced, ever-changing environment with tight deadlines. This role will support both Canadian and US operations.

The responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Process period end, including journal entries, bank reconciliations, inventory reconciliations, rebates & commissions, and various balance sheet schedules
  • Assist in financial statement preparation and analysis
  • Assist in various analysis – actual to budget, YOY, YTD, etc.
  • Reconcile general ledger accounts, sub ledgers, and prepare reconciliation entries
  • Participate in identifying and preventing discrepancies, and ensuring integrity of the GL
  • Prepare and submit monthly, quarterly & annual statutory reporting for various States and Province
  • Participate in cash flow planning involving local and foreign currencies (CAD, USD, EUR, RMB)
  • Assist in reconciliation of multiple monthly credit card statements and updating schedules
  • Reconcile monthly intercompany balances (multi-currency)
  • Assist in year-end audit/review engagements
  • Assist in continuous improvement activities, from idea generation to implementation
  • Maintain filing system within accounting function
  • Concur (expense management platform) accruals
  • Fleet management administration
  • Perform ad hoc tasks, reports, and other activities as required by management
