• Berrigan Shire Council is excited to offer an excellent opportunity for a seasoned Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team.
  In this collaborative and supportive environment, you will report directly to the Finance Manager. Your key responsibilities will include preparing and overseeing the Council’s budgets and financial plans, developing and implementing robust costing systems to support informed decision-making, and ensuring compliance with all taxation and reporting obligations.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Australian class C Drivers Licence
• Tertiary qualification in accounting
• Sound knowledge in the use of MS office applications especially Excel
• Well-developed communication skills
• Excellent time management skills
• National Police Check

• Assist Finance Manager with the preparation and monitoring of the Council’s Capital and Operating budgets and Long Term Financial Plans.
• Prepare statutory and management reports relating to the Council’s financial position.
• Provide information, advice and assistance to line managers with regard to financial management and budgets.
• Prepare and lodge Council’s Taxation obligation reports including monthly Business Activity Statements and Annual Fringe Benefits Tax Statement.
