Accountant (Data Science Specialist)

We have an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Accountant who’s eager to explore data science and new technologies. This role will be an initial 6 month contract, with a view to be made permanent after this. You will play a key role in driving innovative financial solutions, leveraging technology, and fostering collaboration across the Finance Team. You will be part of a dedicated and talented team, with plenty of opportunity for advancement.
In this role there will be a split of BAU accounting and project work on innovative solutions for reporting.

KEY ACCOUNTING RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

• Processing of journals, reconciliations reporting and having ownership of your P&L in your area etc.
• Collaborating and sharing objectives with the wider teams including the Asset Accountants, Strategic Business Partners, Corporate Accountants, Procurement colleagues, and others to achieve your business goals.

WHAT YOUR ROLE MIGHT LOOK LIKE ON THE DATA SIDE:

• Establishing technical solutions to streamline the financials of the business, by utilising the businesses extensive resources and technology
• Getting stuck into exciting projects
• Implementing algorithms to predict financial trends and minimise risks
• E.g Finding an AI based solution for optimising the P&L control process
