JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our team in the Ottawa Area. As our Accountant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of accounting principle and excellent analytical skills.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Professional designation (CPA, CMA, CGA) is preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience in accounting roles
Strong knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and financial reporting standards
Proficiency in using accounting software and MS Office applications, particularly Excel
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Effective communication and interpersonal skill

Process accounts payable weekly, source deductions, process payroll bi monthly
Oversee daily operations of our AR /AP and Bookkeepers
Experience in Leasing and Leasing Accounting would be seen as an Asset
Log and complete commission spreadsheets for Sales staff
Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries, balance sheets, and profit and loss statements
Perform month-end and year-end closing activities, including reconciliations and financial reporting
Analyze financial data to identify discrepancies, variances, and trends
Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support decision-making
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
Assist in the preparation of tax returns and liaise with external auditors
Contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting
Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in accounting
