If you answered yes to these questions, we have the job for you. Highstreet is currently seeking a full-time Accountant to join our growing head office team located in Kelowna, BC.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 3-4 years previous experience.
  • Accounting related diploma or degree.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis.
  • Ability to explain financial concepts to those without a financial background.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office 365 and advanced knowledge of Excel.
  • Experience with Acumatica considered strong asset.
  • Experience in construction considered an asset.
  • Adaptability in the face of change and willingness to learn.
  • Overtime may be required periodically.
  • Satisfactory background (criminal record and credit) check.
    Job Type: Full-time
    Salary: $65,000.00-$90,000.00 per yea

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including general ledger entries and reconciliations
  • Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
  • Conduct bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
  • Assist with budget preparation process and updating monthly forecasts, prepare variance analysis
  • File all returns (GST, etc.) on a timely basis.
  • Process period end, including journal entries and bank reconciliations
  • Assist in financial statement preparation, analysis and reports
  • Participate in identifying and preventing discrepancies, and ensuring integrity of the GL
  • Assist in year-end review engagements
  • Assist in continuous improvement activities, from idea generation to implementatio
