Responsibilities:

Our Finance team is looking for an Accountant to join our growing team and work together with our Accounting Manager on our steadily developing bookkeeping.

The Finance team will depend on your strengths in important areas such as daily bookkeeping, monthly reporting, consolidation, payroll, knowledge of HGB, and the continuous improvements of our accounting processes. Below is a list of responsibilities this key role involves:

You will be responsible for the accounts payable and all incoming invoices by managing our expenditure tool considering the German HGB and international tax regulations. Related to this you will prepare the weekly payment run.

  • You will issue our outgoing invoices and drive the dunning process while staying in touch with our customers for their queries.
  • You are in charge of our travel expenses and do the approval process considering the German income tax law.
  • You will own the day-to-day accounting and prepare our German and Spanish accounts.
  • You will support the finance team during internal and external tax audits.
  • You will progressively take ownership of our accounting administrative processes like vendor onboarding, document management, and tax files.
  • You will drive the continuous improvements of the accounting process with your ideas and improve our workflow.
  • Completed apprenticeship as a tax assistant or a comparable qualification.
  • Desire to learn new skills. Learning and development is a crucial part of our company, and we would of course support you financially where needed
  • 3-5 years of experience in accounting
  • You have worked with DATEV before
  • Fundamental knowledge of HGB and German tax law. International tax law would be desirable but is not a must.
  • Experiences with the use of Cost Centres
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, growing start-up environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, attention to detail, being reliable, and working independently.
  • Customer and stakeholder service orientation
  • Fluency in German & English, in both verbal and written communication
