Description:

Located in the historic and vibrant city of Princeton, NJ, they are seeking an experienced and meticulous Senior Accountant to join their finance team and support their mission of advancing healthcare. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements in compliance with GAAP and company policies. Analyze financial data to provide insights and recommendations to management. General Ledger Management: Oversee the maintenance and reconciliation of the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness. Manage month-end and year-end close processes. Cost Accounting: Implement and maintain cost accounting systems to track and analyze manufacturing costs. Provide insights into cost control and efficiency improvements. Audit Coordination: Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with regulations and standards. Prepare audit schedules and respond to auditor inquiries. Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts, providing detailed variance analysis. Support strategic planning by providing financial insights and projections. Tax Compliance: Ensure timely and accurate filing of federal, state, and local tax returns. Stay updated on tax regulations and implement changes as necessary. Accounts Payable and Receivable: Oversee the accounts payable and receivable functions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation. Monitor cash flow and manage credit control. Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations. Develop and maintain internal controls and procedures. Team Leadership: Mentor and guide entry level accounting staff, providing training and support. Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA certification is required. Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably within the pharmaceutical or manufacturing industry. Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced Excel skills. Experience with financial reporting and tax compliance. Cost Accounting Expertise: Strong knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices, particularly in a manufacturing setting. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to present financial information clearly and concisely to various stakeholders. Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines. Team Player: Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
