Description:

Accountant candidates will be interested in this position at a reputable business, where they will handle matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry, and assisting in the process of Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R). The Accountant position is a permanent role in the Toronto, Ontario, area. Major responsibilities

  • Help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, and other general accounting projects
  • Accurately code documents with expenditure codes and accounting codes
  • Support Accounts Receivable: process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipt, and help with collection of past due balance
  • Complete other related duties and assist with special projects as needed
  • Prepare statements and reports that require utilization of a variety of sources
  • Reconcile discrepancies, and prepare correction documents as needed, by checking all possible sources of disagreement, reconstructing probable actions, and recognizing the effect on other accounts
  • Add financial information to journals and ledgers
  • File vendor invoices and disbursements and match & file A/P invoices to support accounts payable
  • 3+ years of accounting experience required
  • Proficiency in month end closings
  • General familiarity with Microsoft Excel
  • Command of Accounting Entries
  • Analyze Financial Statements experience
  • Accounting cycle experience desired
  • Well-founded grasp of Excel Formulas
  • Financial Statement experience
  • Proven knowledge of financial statement preparation
  • Ability to multitask and communicate effectively with individuals of all backgrounds
  • Spreadsheet and ERP system experience preferred
  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Accurate, swift, data entry abilities
