JOB DESCRIPTION:

As a Plant Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Gain comprehensive knowledge of plant operations and their impact on financial statements.
Participate in the month-end closing process, including creating journal entries and preparing supporting schedules to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
Respond to various audit and tax requests, providing necessary documentation and support as required.
Monitor financial activities to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures. Conduct regular account analysis and reconciliations to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly.
Review General Ledger activity to ensure accurate coding and classification of transactions.
Assist in explaining variances between actual and standard costs to business stakeholders, providing valuable insights to support decision-making.
Contribute to the annual budgeting process by providing financial data and analysis to inform budget development.
Handle payroll processing tasks accurately and efficiently.
Identify opportunities for process improvements and participate in initiatives to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.
Take part in special projects as assigned, leveraging your analytical skills and financial expertise to drive successful outcomes.
Provide support to other members of the accounting team as needed, fostering a collaborative and cohesive work environment.
Keep management informed of accounting activities, highlighting any significant concerns and offering suggestions for improvement.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
Previous experience in accounting or finance, preferably in a manufacturing or plant environment.
Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
