Responsibilities:

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

As an Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing all accounting matters and assisting in the financial management of the organisation. You will be responsible for preparing monthly management reports, supporting end-of-year financial account preparations, and assisting with annual budget planning. Your role will also involve maintaining the general ledger, managing corporate credit cards, and overseeing finance operations. You will have the opportunity to demonstrate your skills in handling/overseeing accounts receivable and payable processes, performing quality checks on cost allocations, and providing relief coverage for finance duties when necessary.

  • Prepare monthly management reports in liaison with Finance Manager
  • Support the Finance Manager in the preparation of end-of-year financial accounts
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual operating budget
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger
  • Oversee the preparation of FBT return and Business Activity Statements
  • Manage corporate credit cards
  • Perform quality checks on allocation of operating and capital costs
  • Oversee finance and administration operations for optimum efficiency
  • Handle accounts receivable and payable day-to-day processing as workflow requires
  • Provide relief coverage for finance duties when required

The ideal candidate for this Accountant position brings along a wealth of experience from a similar role. You possess excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills that enable you to identify key drivers impacting profitability. Your sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and relevant tax laws equips you well for this role. Your experience in preparing financial reports coupled with your high-level competency in IT tools like Microsoft Office and Excel will be crucial in this role. Experience with TASS and Sage will be an added advantage. You hold tertiary qualifications in Accounting, and a CPA qualification is preferred but not essential. Lastly, you must have a valid Working with Children Check and Police Check.

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role
  • Excellent analytical, research, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards, relevant tax and statutory requirements
  • Experience in preparing financial reports
  • High level competency in information technologies, including Microsoft Office and specifically Excel
  • Experience with TASS and Sage is highly regarded
  • Experience in leading or supervising a team is advantageous
  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting; CPA qualification preferred but not essential
  • Working with Children Check; Police Chec
