We are looking for an Accountant to join our company.
The Accountant is part of the GBS Finance team, the selected one is to ensure accuracy and completeness in financial records, compliance with local accounting standards & corporate policies/guidelines, statutory audit and tax, and contribute to the overall financial health and success of the business.
Global Business Services (GBS) provides high quality, scalable and cost-efficient business support services, such as finance, HR and IT, to companies in the Wilhelmsen group.
Who you will report to:
The Accountant reports to Accounting Manager and managing relationships with external and internal stakeholders to provide effective services.
What you will be doing:
- Oversee day to day accounting activities to ensure proper interaction and flow of information with internal stakeholder
- Review of month-end closing journals prepared by shared services team
- Conducting monthly/ quarterly trend analysis on balance sheet and P&L accounts
- Prepare variance analysis explanation for management reporting purpose
- Review balance sheet reconciliation and follow up clearing/ resolve discrepancies on a timely manner
- Monitoring and assisting in cash flow forecasting in cooperation with the Treasury Team
- Ensuring correct and timely payments to suppliers
- Ensuring that financial data are accurate and complete in accordance with local accounting standards & corporate policies/guidelines
- Collaborating with internal/external parties responsible for preparing statutory financial statements, GST returns, annual tax returns and internal audit/review
- Any other duties or projects assigned by the Management
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 2 years of experience in General Ledger and/or experience in accounting controller/ FP&A roles
- Prior audit experience in Big4 is an advantage
- Overall understanding of accounting transactions and their impact on balance sheet/profit and loss statements.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and trends.
- Knowledge in accounting systems is preferred, but not compulsory (IFS, Oracle, SAP, etc.)
- Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel
