QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in accounting or finance with focus on financial analysis roles required
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations required
  • Experience with ERP systems, data warehousing tools and databases an asset
  • Heavy duty parts knowledge or background an asset
  • Advanced level analytical and problem-solving skills - ability to find creative solutions that meet the needs of divisional leaders.
  • Advanced knowledge in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (email, word, excel) and ability to learn in-house systems
  • Advanced interpersonal skills and communication skills (including written and verbal), with experience in developing and maintaining collaborative working relationships built on trust and respect
  • Ability to work productively in a fast paced, continuous learning, team-oriented environment whether working independently or collaboratively

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct in depth analysis of financial statements, identifying trends, variances and areas for improvement
  • Assist with the development of financial models to support forecasting and budgeting processes
  • Assist with the development of financial reporting using Business Analytics tools
  • Prepare and present financial reports for management, highlighting key performance indicators and financial metrics
  • Participate in the management and reporting of fixed assets
  • Ensure compliance and provide guidance to project teams with accounting principles, regulations and internal policies
  • Stay updated on accounting standards and implement necessary adjustments
  • Collaborate with external auditors during financial audits and project team as needed
  • Provide documentation and explanations to audit inquiries
  • Identify opportunities for policy and process improvements as well as efficiency enhancements in financial procedures
  • Implement best practices to streamline accounting processes
  • Provide recommendations to members of the finance team and/or others in the department to implement and track margin improvement initiatives
  • Utilize accounting software and ERP systems to perform daily tasks efficiently
  • Ad hoc finance and operations projects as required by the Director of Finance
  • Perform daily general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis
  • Other duties as assigned
