We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Accounting Assistant to join our accounting team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to the accounting department by performing various clerical tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and ensuring efficient financial operations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a solid understanding of basic accounting principles.

What You Will Do

  • Data Entry and Record Keeping:
  • Accurately enter financial data into accounting systems.
  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and spreadsheets.
  • Ensure all data is accurate, complete, and up-to-date.
  • Accounts Payable
  • Process invoices, expense reports, and other financial documents.
  • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Financial Reporting:
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and statements.
  • Compile data for month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Help with the analysis of financial data and identify trends or discrepancies.
  • Clerical and Administrative Support:
  • Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other inquiries.
  • Assist in organizing and maintaining the department’s filing system.
  • Support the accounting team with administrative tasks as needed.
  • Compliance and Audits:
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation of documents for audits.
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial information.

EDUCATIONAL, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Associates or higher Accounting or related field preferred
  • SAP experience highly preferred
  • 1+ year experience in accounting
  • QuickBooks knowledge preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
