Description:

The Accounting Clerk will be providing accounting and clerical assistance to the Finance department and will report directly to the Director of Finance. The accounting function will involve the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, bank reconciliations, and reporting, as well as implementing process improvements. The Accounting Clerk will play a pivotal role in ensuring timely and accurate reporting.

WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU:

  • 1 year of financial accounting experience (e.g. AP clerk, AR clerk)
  • Must have proficiency in Quickbooks and Google Sheets or Excel
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Self starter attitude with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
  • Extensive knowledge of accounting standards, fiscal procedures, and applicable tax codes

Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of monthly balance sheet account reconciliations and annual financial statements.
  • Coordinate third-party billing with account managers to ensure accuracy of billing and revenue configurations within our CRM.
  • Develop and maintain company policies related to the Finance function.
  • Maintaining the general ledger.
  • Reconcile the bank and verify payments in our CRM.
  • Accounts payable, including data entry of all invoices/expense reports and payments, as well as reconciliation of vendor accounts and vendor management.
  • Accounts receivable, including data entry of all sales invoices and receipts as well as reconciliation of customer accounts including collections.
  • Prepare bank account reconciliations.
  • Process payroll and record respective journal entries.
  • Assist with filings for Sales Tax and Payroll remittances.
  • Assist with month-end close activities, ensuring that relevant deadlines are met.
  • Attend project meetings as needed.
  • Prepare prepaid journal entries.
  • Prepare year-end reports and reconciliations.
  • Assist with year-end audit in accordance with auditor’s requests.
  • Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports.
  • Record revenue transactions and adjust unearned revenue balances.
  • Administer, as needed, the processing of wage subsidies and other stipends. This includes maintaining accurate and up-to-date employer/student paperwork, maintaining necessary communications and weekly reporting on how we are tracking to subsidies and stipend disbursement by projectCommunicate with banks and other external parties.
