Description:

GENERAL POSITION SUMMARY

This is an important service position, fundamental to the function of the entire property management business, and requires the ability to balance accuracy with timely and effective communication. You are expected to make decisions, to complete successful transactions, and to communicate actively and accurately with accounting teammates, property managers, and other co-workers. Each transaction and interaction must be handled in a way that positively spreads our organization’s reputation and ensures the highest quality product for our customers.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING/SKILLS REQUIRED:

One to three years of experience in an accounting clerk position, preferably in a commercial property management environment.
Must be able to work independently, a self-starter and energetic.
Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must have excellent typing skills.
Must be capable of handling multiple tasks and the ability to prioritize.
Needs to possess a positive outlook with ability to stay organized and efficient under pressure.
Must have experience with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel. Familiarity with property management software systems preferred.
Must have 10-key by touch data entry.
Must be familiar with online banking.
Must be familiar with copying and scanning of documents.

Responsibilities:

Utilize computerized accounting software programs (including, but not limited to, MRI, Avid, ClickPay, Adobe Acrobat, Excel, and Word) to perform duties and responsibilities.
Utilize various banking software programs to obtain daily cash receipts.
Post cash receipts in MRI.
Research cash receipts, coding and posting of receipts.
Generate accounting statements and reports.
Assist with accounts payable by coding invoices, communicating with vendors, or other responsibilities as assigned.
Assist the Director of Financial Services, Assistant Controller, Budget Specialist, or Lease Administrator in special projects as requested.
Provide monthly financial and management reports to the accountants.
Work in a team environment, with accountants, property management assistants, and property managers to respond to specific needs as requested.
Utilize copy machines and scanners to store accounting and property management data.
Provide support to the portfolio accountants as assigned.
Provide support to the Corporate Accountant as assigned.
