Description:

Robert Half is hiring an Accounting Clerk for a reputable company that is looking to expand. The duties of this role include matching invoices to purchase orders and/or vouchers, data entry and facilitating Accounts Payable (A/P) and Accounts Receivable (A/R) processes. You will work with a dynamic team in a great work space/office and have excellent benefits and great career advancement opportunity. The Accounting Clerk position is a permanent role in the Hamilton, Ontario, area.

Responsibilities

  • Use a variety of sources to prepare statements and reports
  • Process daily invoices/credit, apply cash receipts, and help with collection of past due balances to support Accounts Receivable
  • Handle general accounting tasks: help with G/L account reconciliation and month-end closing, other ad hoc projects
  • Classify documents with the proper expenditure codes and accounting codes
  • File vendor invoices and disbursements and match & file A/P invoices to support accounts payable
  • Use various methods to add financial information to journals and ledgers
  • Reconcile discrepancies by examining possible sources of disagreement, recreating likely actions, and identifying the effect on other accounts; prepare correction documents as needed
  • Complete other related duties and assist with special projects as needed
  • AA or BS/BA in Accounting or related field preferred
  • Solid understanding of bi-Monthly Payroll
  • Experience with month end closings
  • Expense Reporting experience
  • Accounts Receivable (AR) experience
  • Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP)
  • Ability to multitask and attention to detail are critical
  • Skilled in Spreadsheet and ERP system
  • Ability to enter data into various electronic systems while maintaining the integrity and accuracy of the data
