Accounting Clerk

We are offering a contract employment opportunity for an Accounting Clerk in Portland, Maine. This role is pivotal in the finance department of our telecom provider organization, focusing on maintaining accurate customer credit records, processing customer credit applications, and handling customer credit inquiries.

• Prepare and reconcile journal entries and ledger accounts
• Handle banking and credit card activity reconciliation and postings
• Maintain knowledge of GAAP principles for accounting practices
• Document supporting information for Balance Sheet accounts
• Assist in creating Revenue, Liquidity, AP/AR, and Customer Deposits data on a weekly basis
• Support in inputting information into the Financial Statements template
• Execute Accounts Payable Process and process expense reports
• Handle collections and Past Due Receivables
• Make requested changes to Chart of Accounts
• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation
• Experience in handling Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Familiarity with Billing procedures and protocols
• Proficient in Data Entry tasks
• Ability to handle Invoice Processing
• Knowledge and experience in using Microsoft Excel
