Description:
SUMMARY: Ensures company accounting procedures conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. Assists in daily, monthly, quarterly and year-end general accounting. Ensures that internal and external reporting is completed on a timely basis. Performs activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required. Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English. This is normally acquired through a high school diploma. Must have legible handwriting.
- Must be able to work on own, without constant supervision. Ability to operate adding machine/calculator and computer terminal.
- Two to five years of accounting experience preferred.
- Must be 21 years of age and be able to obtain all local, state and federal regulatory permits as required by position.

Responsibilities:
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Performs activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial statements and reports.
- Prepares month-end and miscellaneous journal entries. Adheres to the requirements of the department’s month-end closing schedules.
- Prepares and maintains spreadsheets. Prepares and analyzes account reconciliations.
- Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local regulatory authorities.
- Reviews the documentation to ensure accuracy.
- Addresses and researches all related questions.
- Reports any discrepancies to the Assistant Financial Controller.
- Other duties as assigned.
