Description:

JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the management and oversight of on-site accountants and their corresponding deliverables for an assigned book of business. This would include but not limited to oversight of the daily cash monitoring, sales reporting; oversight of inventory procedures, delivery of all necessary month end reports to the general ledger team, team’s preparation of key reporting, as well as general support and guidance to the on-site team and board members where applicable. The Accounting Manager will serve as a key liaison and build relationships between client accounting and property management teams that drive quality and overall performance of contracted accounting services.

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors or Associate degree in Accounting from an accredited college or university, and minimum five years in food and beverage or hospitality accounting.
  • Minimum 3 years supervising a team. Condo/Home Owner Association and General ledger accounting experience a plus; additional years of experience could offset the need for an accounting degree.
  • Excellent organization, motivation, leadership, management and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong working knowledge of customer service principles and practices.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented and strong organizational skills and multi-tasking skills.
  • Must have a strong work ethic and be detail-oriented with excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
  • Must have strong excel skills along with proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office, including but not limited to Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
  • Experience with a POS system required, Jonas a plus.
  • Ability to work with sensitive or confidential information.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work well under pressure.
  • Ability to perform with minimum supervision and make decisions independently.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently and be self-driven.
  • Critical thinking, problem solving, judgment and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the daily functions and deliverables of assigned property accountants in a manner that can be measured and tracked by Key Results Area (“KRA”) to gauge performance.
  • Provide ad-hoc reporting and KRA monitoring to ensure accounting deliverables are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Evaluate property workflows to optimize team performance of accounting deliverables. Identify possible issues, inconsistencies, and implement/oversee corrective strategies and procedures. This will require collaboration and communication with internal and external partners.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of accounting workflows for new business (start-up accounts, special assessments, budgets, etc.) ensuring smooth setup and delivery of services.
  • Coordinate with and assist the appropriate cross functional teams (client accounting, operations, human resources, etc.) with required deliverables.
  • Assist leadership with related projects, presentations, reports, or assignments as requested.
  • Conduct business at all times with the highest standards of personal, professional and ethical conduct.
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines.
  • Ensure all safety precautions are followed while performing the work.
  • Follow all policies and Standard Operating Procedures as instructed by Management.
  • Perform any range of special projects, tasks and other related duties as assigned
