QUALIFICATIONS/COMPETENCIES

The individual in this role will have:

  • A degree or diploma in accounting/finance is considered an asset
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting or finance roles
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with colleagues and clients
  • Proficiency in accounting software (Microsoft D365) and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly word and excel
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and resolve accounting issues independently
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting
  • Flexibility and adaptability to navigate changes in priorities, procedures or systems
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrate integrity and ethical conduct in handling sensitive financial information
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive team environment
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and stay updated on industry trends and best practices

Responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintain accurate financial records by entering and processing accounting transactions into the company’s accounting software
  • Generate customer invoices, follow up on outstanding receivables and reconcile customer accounts.
  • Perform daily bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data
  • Provide support in preparing financial statements, including balance sheet and income statements
  • Assist in maintaining the general ledger, including preparing journal entries and reconciling accounts
  • Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and assisting auditors as required
  • Participate in special projects or initiatives as assigned by the Controller
