THE OPPORTUNITY

We are looking for an Accounting Technician to join our Finance Team as part of our financial services business in Dublin.
As part of the global expansion of the Maples Group’s financial services offering, our Dublin office opened its doors in 2008. REQUIREMENTS

In addition to indisputably high ethical standards and autonomy, the ideal candidate possesses the following:

  • The successful candidate will possess an Accounting Technician qualification or be a part-qualified accountant pursuing a professional qualification.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role is required.
  • The successful candidate will have excellent organizational skills, excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to deal with all levels of staff and in foreign offices.
  • He/she should have strong computer skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft applications, possess strong attention to detail and be able to manage time effectively in order to meet deadlines.

Responsibilities:

The Accounting Technician is a varied and wide-ranging role. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Preparation and posting of general ledger journal entries including accruals and prepayments;
  • Liaising with vendors where necessary on invoice queries;
  • Liaising with the business on client queries and recording client disbursements
  • Preparing bank reconciliations and liaising with banks on transaction queries;
  • Preparing credit card entries and reconciling the credit card statement;
  • Preparing balance sheet reconciliations;
  • Maintaining the fixed asset register and depreciation charges;
  • Assisting with month end close and reporting performance;
  • Assisting with the production of statutory accounts;
  • Assisting in the preparation of annual audits;
  • Preparation of VIES returns;
  • Ensuring intercompany balances agree to counterpart and get periodically settled;
  • Preparing non-routine analysis of specific accounts as requested.
