Description:

Mantra Trilogy is located on the bustling Cairns Esplanade and a stone’s throw from the shores of the Coral Sea. The property hosts 225 rooms comprising of hotel, one, two and three bedroom apartments spread over three towers. The location boasts a tropical lifestyle where in your downtime you can explore the Great Barrier Reef, enjoy the cafés and restaurants along the esplanade, experience Cape Tribulation and enjoy local markets.
Purpose
As the Accounts Assistant, you will contribute to the efficient and accurate financial management of the hotel, ensuring that financial records are maintained, transactions are properly documented, and financial reporting is timely and accurate.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations and handle bank transfers with precision
  • Manage banking administration tasks efficiently, including the timely issuance of monthly invoices
  • Be the architect of financial fairness, ensuring equitable distribution of central expenses among properties and orchestrating the timely collection of aged debts
  • Conduct meticulous reconciliations for BAS, FBT, and maintain the Fixed Asset register accurately
  • Undertake end-of-month accrual processes with determination, join the P&L review team with enthusiasm, and reconcile balance sheets with a keen eye
  • Assist in Corporate Credit Card administration and Loyalty points management while maintaining strict report accuracy
  • Uphold rigorous adherence to established financial procedures, safeguard the confidentiality of processed information, and contribute to a seamless financial operation

Skills and Experience

  • Hold a relevant degree in accounting or commerce
  • Bring prior experience in public practice or commerce ideally with a hospitality background in Finance, Night Audit, or as a Duty Manager
  • Excels in the world of Microsoft Excel
  • Masters the art of excellent verbal and written communication, with an unmatched eye for detail
  • Shows proactive tendencies by delivering timely information to the Finance Manager
