Responsibilities:

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Accounts Officer to join our Finance team. The Accounts Officer works with the team deliver high quality transactions and administrative support across the Firm. Key duties of this role include:

  • Management and reconciliation of key Corporate Credit cards
  • Actively involved in managing the processing of invoices, maintaining supplier details and payment processing.
  • Ensuring suppliers are paid in line with payment terms.
  • Approving new matters and clients including assessing conflict check reports
  • Reconciling bank accounts daily
  • Data integrity analysis and data cleansing
  • Liaising with bank branch staff for processing of bank cheques, RTGS payments (domestic and international), and daily banking
  • Drawing of Trust Account and General Account payments (electronic and cheque payments) and PEXA settlement transactions
  • Coordinating processing of Cab Charge & Ride Share Services
  • Entering client disbursements and outlays on appropriate matters
  • Managing petty cash
  • Following up unpresented trust & general account cheques and slow moving trust balances

We are looking for someone who has a strong understanding of the accounts payable process, systems and policy including trade and matter based creditors with the ability to become a subject matter expert for the practice management financial system and engage in functional enhancement projects.
This is an all-rounder position that works in a variety of finance areas in partnership with other administrative and client facing teams to resolve client requests and deliver support across our offices.
To be successful in this role you will be proactive, able to manage deadlines and have a high attention to detail. You will have the ability to deal internal and external clients with diplomacy and respect. Experience or exposure in the legal industry would be highly desirable.
