Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

We have a fantastic opportunity to join DevelopmentWA’s high performing Finance Team on a Full Time Permanent basis.
Our Accounts Officer is directly responsible for undertaking accounts payable and administrative functions, including record management, payment of supplier invoices, reconciliations and managing the integrity of our accounting system.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Accurate recording and processing of Supplier invoices and credit notes
  • Timely payment of Supplier invoices, consistent with contract agreements and Treasurer’s Instructions
  • Preparation and distribution of remittance advice
  • Reconciling Supplier Statements, ensuring all invoices received are accurately recorded
  • Maintain Aged Creditor records, including follow up with outstanding Supplier accounts
  • Investigation and resolution of Accounts Payable enquiries
  • Managing the Finance e-mail Inbox, ensuring internal and external queries are dealt with effectively and in a timely manner
  • Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the Accounts Payable ledger
  • Maintains and ensures system Supplier records are up to date, including bank details, ABN and relevant Supplier communication
  • Update and maintain Accounts Payable function policies and procedures
  • Support the work of the wider Finance team and operations
  • Identifying process improvement opportunities

To be successful in this role you will have the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Considerable experience with computerised Financial Management Systems, specifically Oracle Financials and Objective
  • Demonstrated experience with accounts payable and receivable functions
  • Demonstrated experience with month end reconciliations of accounts payable ledgers and general ledgers
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, time management and problem-solving skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work cooperatively with others at all levels
  • Knowledge and commitment to the delivery of quality customer service
  • Ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment
